01 / Who is responsible
Van Zyl Developers, owned and operated by Jeandré Van Zyl in Ceres, Western Cape, South Africa, is responsible for the personal information it receives through this website. Contact jeandrevanzyl264@gmail.com or +27 83 991 3592 about this notice or a privacy request. This notice was updated on 2 November 2026.
02 / Information you choose to share
When you submit an enquiry, we receive your name, email address, selected service, budget range, message and consent confirmation, together with any optional phone number or other details you provide. If you contact us by email, phone or WhatsApp, we receive the details you share through that channel. Providing enquiry information is voluntary, but we need a reply address and enough information to respond. Do not submit passwords, identity documents, bank or payment-card details, or other sensitive information through the website form.
03 / Why we use your information
We use enquiry information to respond, understand your requirements, prepare quotations, communicate about a requested project and maintain appropriate business records. Processing is based on your request, steps toward an agreement, performance of an agreement, applicable legal duties, or a legitimate business purpose where permitted by POPIA. Submitting an enquiry does not subscribe you to marketing. We do not sell your personal information.
04 / Hosting and technical information
The site is hosted on Netlify. Hosting and security infrastructure may process request information such as your IP address, browser, requested URL, referrer, request time and security events to deliver and protect the website. These operational records are separate from advertising or visitor-tracking scripts. We have not installed website analytics, advertising pixels or payment collection on this website. Netlify's privacy information is at https://www.netlify.com/privacy/.
05 / Contact form and service providers
The enquiry form sends the details you enter to Web3Forms over HTTPS for processing and email delivery to Van Zyl Developers. Web3Forms and its infrastructure providers may process submission metadata for delivery and abuse prevention and retain submissions under their own service policies; submitting does not mean the data is immediately deleted by the provider. See https://web3forms.com/privacy. Our email provider also processes received messages. We share information only as needed for these services, an agreed project, or applicable legal obligations.
06 / Browser storage and preferences
The site uses local browser storage to remember your privacy choice (vzd-consent-v1) and, if selected, your motion preference (vzd-motion-v1). These preferences stay in your browser and are not used for cross-site tracking. No optional analytics or advertising tools are enabled by either privacy choice on this version of the site. You can reopen privacy preferences using the footer control and clear saved choices in your browser settings. The Cookies & Storage page explains the current storage in more detail.
07 / External links and WhatsApp
Portfolio links take you to independently operated websites. Clicking WhatsApp, email or phone links opens a separate service or application; if you send a message, that service processes the information under its own terms. Merely viewing our site does not send your enquiry to WhatsApp. Review the relevant provider's privacy information before sharing personal data.
08 / International processing
Netlify, Web3Forms, email and messaging providers may process or store information outside South Africa. Provider locations, subprocessors and terms can change. Where we arrange an international transfer, applicable POPIA requirements and appropriate safeguards must be considered. You may contact us for information about the providers used for your enquiry or project.
09 / Retention and security
We retain correspondence for the enquiry and any resulting project, appropriate business record keeping, and periods required by law or a dispute. We review information when it is no longer needed and delete or de-identify it when appropriate. Provider logs and form submissions follow the providers' retention arrangements. We use reasonable access and security measures appropriate to the information; no internet service can promise absolute security. Privacy requests should not include unnecessary sensitive records.
10 / Your POPIA rights and complaints
Subject to POPIA and applicable exceptions, you may ask whether we hold personal information about you, request access or correction, request deletion where appropriate, object to certain processing, or withdraw consent where consent is the basis. Contact jeandrevanzyl264@gmail.com; we may request proportionate identity verification before disclosing records. You may complain to South Africa's Information Regulator at POPIAComplaints@inforegulator.org.za, 010 023 5200, or https://inforegulator.org.za/contact-us/. The official Act is available at https://www.gov.za/documents/protection-personal-information-act.
